Best New Years Eve yet!

So I've had a lot of people ask me about the proposal, so here is the story!

12/31/2010

I went over to Cameron's house for a New Year's Eve party. Since I wasnt there for Christmas I had gifts to open. He had me open a gift at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 & 11:59. The box to open at 11:59 was a ring box wrapped up. I kept getting mad at him for making me wait until 11:59 to open that one. At about 10:15, some of his siblings started lighting candles...I kept thinking, thats weird...he's not proposing until midnight, when I open the 11:59 present. Our song was even playing. I was leaning against him at 10:26 waiting to open my 10:30 present, his heart was beating sooooo fast. I was still so confused EVEN when his brother was holding a video camera. Still oblivious because I thought he was proposing at midnight. His family does a gingerbread village every year, this year they had a Disneyland theme. They had a Sleeping Beauty castle from the gingerbread village castle still up, in front of their Christmas tree. 10:30, Cameron has me sit down in front of the castle and open the present with him. It was a letter. He read the letter to me, while I was looking at it I had finally realized that he was proposing! I saw the, "will you marry me?" at the end of the letter and started tearing up. Of course I said "yes!" My ring was hidden in the castle behind a little fake plant. I had walked by that castle numerous times that night and had NO idea! It was the most perfect night, I can't wait to become Mrs. Beck and have Cameron forever!

Oh and we're getting married June 11, 2011. :)

Here are some pictures from the night...

Craftiness- Winter Rose Wreath

So, lately I've had the itch to be crafty. I have about 10 things on my craft to-do list, I cant wait! I had never made a wreath before and I was quite nervous for this craft adventure. I must say I'm happy with how it turned out! Please dont judge too much though...it IS my first wreath :). OH and the lighting was not the greatest in my room. The best part...the whole wreath cost me less than $7 to make!

I'm back! I havent really had anything TOO exciting to blog about in the past couple of months. I thought I would blog again since I thought of some fun things going on in my life to share.

numero uno:

first date: September 3, 2010

cute boy. Cameron. Some of the fun things we've done: ballroom dance class, clark planetarium, luau, picnics, attempting to fly kites, hikes up to fun waterfalls, laughing so hard it feels like we just did a 30 min tony hortin ab workout. We have a blast together.

I'm only partially sorry for the mushy pictures :).

numero dos:

September 25, 2010-Dirty Dash

before...

after!

For those of you who don't know what this is...the Dirty Dash is a 10k(6 miles) obstacles course--in mud. I was very nervous for this event but I am SO happy I did it. My whole team I ran with just had so much fun! It was a diffucult run, but totally worth it. Everyone should do it! My friends and I are super excited to sign up for the 5k dirty dash in the spring.

numero tres:

My friend Lisa invited me and another friend Tawnie to volunteer at a cancer walk called "light the night", on saturday. It was a very cool experience. I didnt think it would be as emotional as it was. We worked in the t-shirt booth AND got to hold the "start" sign. I loved being able to see these awesome cancer survivors. They are my heroes, I cant imagine what it would be like to go through something like that. We ended the night by going to see the movie, "Life As We Know It"...very cute chick flick, a must see--dont forget to bring some tissues!

I'm excited for such a fun month! It finally feels like fall and it makes me so happy...except for the fact that I will be 24 in a few weeks...yikes! Happy October!

Day Seven: A photo that makes you happy.

Yes, I skipped to day 7. I didnt feel like doing the others.

First photo that makes me happy: Baby Marilyn. My "niece". LOVE her, but who wouldn't, right??

Second photo that makes me happy (come on you knew I wouldnt just pick one, would you?): Maui, Hawaii. This picture was taken on the road to Hana. It's ironic that I picked this one because I'm actually doing a presentation on it tomorrow. I should get working on that. procrastinator much? indeed.

Day Three: Favorite TV Show.

So I missed a day. Don't hate! I had a pretty crazy random weekend. Weekend filled with movies with girlfriends, dinners/lunches, bon fire up the canyon, hot springs at 2 in the morning(along with a 5 mile hike round trip to get to said hot springs), run-ins with deer, being one with nature. :)Nothing better than coming home and smelling like bon fire and the oh so lovely rotten egg hot springs smell. It was very busy weekend, but oh so fun! I love spontaneous weekends, makes for fun memories, and great stories. Sadly I didn't take any pictures. Hopefully I will be taking some pictures soon. I've been slacking majorly. Ok, on to day three...

FAVORITE TV SHOW:

As you can all see I'm pretty indecisive and can't narrow my favorite things down. I have narrowed it down to three favorite TV shows currently.

First: Modern Family

Second: Friends

Third: Cake Boss.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend!

Day Three: Favorite Book

First off I just have to throw this out there. I'm so proud of myself for all of the blog posts over this past couple days. It's like a record amount for me! Even if there isn't anyone who even reads my blog :).

Ok, now on to day 3. My favorite book. I LOVE to read. I'm seriously a nerd when it comes to reading. As I explained to my roommate last night...I am like a kid in a candy shop when I walk into Barnes & Noble. I'm soo excited for this semester to be over so I can read for fun again! I'll have to narrow it down to 2 books. The first one is, At First Sight--By:Nicholas Sparks and Odd Thomas--By:Dean Koontz. If you havent read either, and you are a book nerd...you must!

Have a great day everyone!

Day Two: Favorite Movie

Seriously. These questions are so difficult. I have a favorite movie in every genre, but if I were to pick overall, I would have to pick While You Were Sleeping. I could watch this movie anytime, no matter what mood I'm in. I LOVE it. Ironic that I don't own it. I should get on that.
